Savings Account

The credit union offers savings accounts that are flexible and convenient! Build your savings at your own pace with regular automatic deposits, payroll deductions or automatic transfers! You do not have to maintain a minimum monthly balance and there are no service charges for deposits or withdrawals. The interest that is earned on this account is calculated on a monthly basis and paid quarterly. Balances up to $2000 are life insured at no extra cost*! Earn more interest by transferring your savings into a short or long-term term deposit or tax-free savings account. Remember that you can access your savings account at any time with your Golden Horseshoe Credit Union debit card or through online banking!

*$2,000 balance must be acquired and maintained prior to age 55 for continuing coverage after age 55

Kids Savings Account

We also offer kids savings accounts for children between the ages of 0-11. This account is a great way to teach your children about saving their money and how to use a bank account. Parents can choose to be joint on this account or it can be primarily in the child’s name. In order to open a kid’s account, the child must be present with identification (birth certificate, health card, and social insurance card). Get your child started on the right track towards saving for the future!
